Here are some common questions that are usually asked which could help you in planning your event. If there is a particular question or concern you have that is not listed here, please email or call us. We will be more than happy to address your concerns and customize your specific event. What do you do at events?
We provide accessibility to an authentic fire engine (pumper) for a wide variety of events. Depending on what your needs are; we could also include Fire Safety Presentations, Modified Firefighter Experiences, Fire History Presentations, Fire Truck Tour (which includes tools and gear) and rides in Ol' Big Red. We are also open to requests or suggestions to customize any event you have in mind.  Please see our Services Page.


How long is Big Red at the event?  (time)
The length of time we are at an event depends on what we were hired to do which falls in one of two categories.

  • Children's Birthday Parties - We currently have three different packages in which each package builds upon the next. Depending on the package chosen and the amount of participants, any event could run from half an hour to 2 or 2.5 hours. Another factor to consider is the arrival time of The Big Red Truck. You may want us to arrive after your guests to surprise them with the engine using it's lights and sirens and announcing the birthday child's name. Another option is when we arrive first (before or with the guests) where they could explore the truck and take pictures before the activities begin. Both options are equally successful. Again, it is based on your preference and the mood you want to create.
  • All Other Events - This includes weddings, parades, promotional events, movie shoots, grand openings, fundraising and any other occasion. We will basically charge an hourly fee for Big Red which will have three variations; Big Red parked and unattended, Big Red parked and attended and finally BigRed at event and in service.  Please see our Services Page for more details and pricing.

Are there any parking/staging requirements?
The reality is that most homes do not have a driveway that is long enough to accommodate a 27-foot long fire truck - and that's okay. At your residence, we generally park in the street outside of your home marking the area with orange cones to both have an outer limit for guests walking around the vehicle as well as a warning to passing traffic. (we will also help supervise guests on the traffic side as needed, based on the street and where we have parked).

If the event is off-street or otherwise away from traffic, Big Red will fit in almost any place a vehicle is permitted. Should you decide to host the event in a public park, please keep in mind you must contact the Park & Recreation Dept of that City/Municipality to abide by their Rules & Regulations on such matters.

At the time of reservation, we will ask for the address of the event so that we may be able to address logistics of location and follow up with you if need be.


How do I reserve?
Easy -- Just click on our "
Make A Reservation" or "Contact Us" page. By reserving a date or calling us we will make all necessary arrangements and instruct you on how to leave a deposit to reserve your date. All deposits must be made at least two weeks prior to event date in order to secure Big Red.

What are your rates, forms of payment accepted and deposits required?
Our rates primarily depend on what type of event you would like to have. Please see our Services page for pricing and options.  We accept Visa/MC ( probably the most convenient and easiest form of payment ). You could also pay by check* or cash.  A $100.00 deposit is required at time of reservation.  All final payments must be made at least 24 hours prior to event in order to secure event.   * If final payment is being made by check, we require payment at least 7 business days prior to event.

How far in advance should I reserve?
We work on a 'first come, first serve' basis, so the earlier you work at reserving a date the greater your chances are of acquiring your date of choice.

What happens if I need to cancel?
